This beautiful Johnson Bros 14 Inch platter is from their pattern called Historic America. The platter depicts an early scene of Washington DC. This platter is a rosy pink or a light red. It is in excellent vintage condition.
I have taken close up photos of the scene which is very detailed. I love looking at it to help see how it looked in those early years. Historic America really is well named.
The backs of the pieces in this pattern say Ironstone. Ironstone reportedly wears like iron. Hence, the name. It resists chipping. There are no chips, cracks or crazing on this excellent platter.
This Johnson Bros pattern was produced in the years between 1930 and 1974.
This platter would be a perfect add on to an existing collection. It is large enough for a small turkey or large ham. Or to serve slice pieces of each. Last but not least, it would be excellent as an item of interest on a plate shelf.
I also have 2- 10 inch dinner plates in Historic America in a separate listing here
